Almost all my students ask me the same question: "teacher, how can you keep practice english and improve every day?", and i always tell them that i usually match my hobbies with learning, for example:
Reading Comics
i don´t consider i big comic fan, but, i enjoy a good reading, most of the time, i read from dc and marvel comics the superheroes i like (captain america, batman, sentry, red hood, etc) and also new comics that catch my inteset. because the story is so interesting and the vocabulary is differente that the ones you found in school english book that motivate me to learn the words i don´t know and i don´t feel to difficult to do it.
This is a good comic, if you want to start with one comic, this is a good recomendation, but beware it has a lot of explicit content. Watching Youtube Channels for Game Reviews |
This is a great channel and the guy in the picture is very funny |
Play Videogames
As a say before i don´t have much time but most of the time i managed to find spare minutes to relax, in my case, i play videogames, although i have videogame consoles (Ps4, 3ds and Switch) i usually play in my cellphone, because is easy for me to take out my pocketb and play a little bit (no..i don´t play candy crush...i hate that game jeje) and strangely enough, the games i have, also helps me to improve my vocabulary, the type of game i like is rpg (role play games) because there are a lot of text and that guarantee several words i mught not know, so for this part, i kill two birds with one stone.
By far the Final Fantasy series is my favorite saga and Final Fantasy IV is my favorite game of all time, and yes...you have to read a loooooot. |
There are other things i do, like, listenin to music ( linking park, no wyld, system of a down, etc) to improve my listening and speaking skills and of course write a lot (like this blog for example). soooooo
